I love a good experiental museum visit as much as the next person (Hey Color Factory!)
It’s definitely fun to dress the part and express your freedom to take unabashed selfie’s. As I did in my post What to Wear to Museum of Ice Cream if You’re a Grownup.
But kidding aside, these experiential “museums” often lack substance behind the selfies. Unless you’re “That Lady Thing” Creative Director Jamie Shaw who is launching the second edition on March 8th, in honor of International Women’s Day. Purchase Tickets here
The event “That Lady Thing: Phoenix Rising” which will be held at the iconic Phoenix Hotel runs through the 10th and focuses on the hotel as a San Francisco institution powered by women. The hotel’s ownership and management team, Bunkhouse Group, is principally women, under the leadership of celebrated hotelier, Liz Lambert.
“That Lady Thing” Creative Director Jamie Shaw says, “We were conscious that we wanted to celebrate our ‘birthday’ on International Women’s Day, but we also wanted to tell a story about women in leadership, one of our key pillars. When we learned that the Phoenix Hotel, this iconic property known for its midcentury style and rock cred, was powered primarily by women, it was like the stars aligned.”
A portion of ticket and merchandise sales will be donated to National Women’s Law Center
Not an adult yet? No worries. That Lady Thing will be treating Sunday as a teen-focused day with special programming for the younger audience.
