Wardrobe essentials brand Everlane generously offered me one of their new Cashmere styles to feature on the blog. Rather than keep all the fun for myself I let my Instagram subscribers select the style via an Instagram poll.
Fortunately for me most people voted for the cropped mock-neck in black /white mini stripe (Yay!) You know I love a good stripe! Doubled down in cashmere and you have a win-win essential for the cooler seasons ahead. In this post I’m styling everlane cashmere for work, since sweaters are the perfect staple for the office environment.
I have a long relationship with Everlane cashmere and have experienced first hand the improvements they’ve made over the years. The obvious best improvement was lowering the cost. The Everlane cashmere that I purchased 3 years ago cost about $150. Since 2016 or so Everlane has cut their cost to $100 while actually improving upon the quality AND style.
Previously any style of Everlane cashmere beyond the crewneck, came with a cost uptick. Wheras today, you can choose from several of Everlane’s cashmere cuts/styles – all priced at $100. My favorites are the mock-neck and the v-neck.
What impressed me the most about the Fall 2018 cashmere, however, is the softness!
Older styles were a bit itchy and required me to wear a tank underneath. Today’s cashmere worn straight out of the package was like wearing cozy pajamas. No itchiness whatsoever!
Styling Everlane Cashmere for work is easy.
For the formal office environment I would pair the v-neck with one of Everlane’s button downs. My favorite being the striped poplin (here).
The look is menswear inspired and elegant (see how I wore it in my Menswear for Her post featuring the Everlane V-neck)
If bulkiness is a concern then opt for any one of Everlane’s Clean Silk blouses available in a wide range of fall colors.
If you work in a business casual environment like me, you can be a little less formal and “buttoned up”. The boxy cut of the cropped mock-neck is perfect to “half-tuck” into their cropped chino, pictured below. I like to elevate this look with the Everlane Day Heel (I know, I know – a lot of Everlane plugs here, but when you can form a complete look with just one brand, it’s a win!)
To make this look my own I incorporated two of my favorite pieces that you know I’m never without! 1) a thrifted item (this Max Mara coat from Kostum on Piedmont) and 2) a Mansur Gavriel bucket bag in suede.
In a few weeks I will feature your second cashmere choice from Instagram Stories. I haven’t yet settled on the title but it will involve wearing Everlane cashmere with some high street and high fashion pieces.
Till next time!
