I’ll be the first to admit that I’m stuck in a rut.
A black and blue and gray rut.My capsule wardrobe is full of combinations of these neutral shades. As a creature of habit, my wardrobe gravitates towards these certain colors. There’s only one way to escape a gravitational pull: lighten up!
I mean this literally and figuratively.
That said, if you feel good in certain colors don’t let yourself be pressured by outside forces to make a drastic change. Don’t be hard on yourself, after all this is clothing people, not rocket science!
That was the “figurative” part. Now for the literal part: If you do want a change, try your favorite “go to” hues in a lighter value (to use paint store terminology and also the idiot proof way to coordinate wall and trim colors; but I digress).
Stepping up a few shades is a great way to transition your “go to” colors for spring and summer without the pressure to overhaul your personal philosophy on dressing.
Change, when done right, IS a good thing.
