If you’ve been following my blog then you know how I came to meet Jackie of bay area based Tule Fog Candle Company.
Since then I’ve followed her soy wax candle journey which included a sell out collaboration with Settlewell concrete candle containers (which my engineer friends obsessed over!).
Today, I’m so thrilled to collaborate in introducing Tule Fog’s new branding. And, while I will miss the hand written labels of past collections, Tule Fog’s new look is sure to settle nicely into your home. Now, let me introduce you to Jackie and her company story!
TKP: What inspired the name Tule Fog Candle Company and why did you start your
business?TF:The feeling of coziness really inspired our business name. Fog is
such a big part of our lives here in the Bay and any time the fog
rolls in, I love to cozy up with a cup of tea, a candle, and good
book.Tule Fog specifically was a name inspired by a friend who’s
mom loved the Tule Fog in the valley.I started my business after learning about all of the harmful
chemicals used to make conventional candles. After not being able to
really find a good solution in my price range, I decided to make it!
A friend and I made candles for a craft fair one year and then the
rest was history.TKP: What’s the biggest misconception people have about your industry
and what are you doing to change this?TF:I don’t know if this is a misconception but I would love for
everyone to continue asking what ingredients are in their home products.Just like food, what we burn or use in our homes goes into our bodies.
Lotion, dish soap, laundry soap, etc. It all affects our bodies,
sometimes without us knowing it. We will continue to educate people
on the benefits of soy wax and always continue using and researching
the best ingredients.TKP: What is your vision for your business or industry in the next
year?TF: This year we are very excited to roll out our new branding! We had
a great start with our first look and we are hoping our new look
resonates and really reaches more customers. With our mission to provide clean and safe home fragrance, we wanted a look that felt very natural and put together. We believe this is it!
Growth is on the ballot for 2018 and we hope to continue spreading awareness about candle safety.
