That awkward season between late Summer and Fall has become my favorite time to adapt to a Fall Transitional wardrobe. Sound daunting? Try looking at this time of year as a challenge to stretch those summer pieces that you’ve invested in.
And since you loved last years fall transitional wardrobe post, I decided to do an update with a hero piece I’d been eyeing since Spring.
As brands clear out their inventory to make way for new trends, late Summer sales are abundant, and the price reductions deep. I waited until the 11th hour of the Net-A-Porter Summer Sale to snap up this dress from Dodo Bar Or.
While my everyday style is minimal and focused on closet essentials, there are times when when I’m drawn to cool-girl Bohemian style. But always with a minimalist undertone.
Take this dress from Dodo Bar Or in neutral cream and black. I featured it in my Resort Edit long before I was able to commit to buying it. What an elegant mash up of Mediterranean, North Africa and Middle Eastern influences! The polka dots, being a fall trend. Plus the tassels, a never-ending Summer fav, and you’ve got the perfect Autumn transitional piece.
Late Summer / early Fall is also the time for rich colors and luxe textures. I went for texture with this Bohemian dress.
To give it a true Fall vibe I tucked away my sandals and reached for luxe fur slippers. The leather and fur detailing bring this airy dress down to earth. If California had a Fall season I would be running through the Autumn leaves in these.
In keeping with a late Summer theme I reached for organic accessories: my favorite summer straw bag and matching straw hoop statement earrings from Forever 21. If you follow me on Instagram then you saw these on my IGTV. Statement earrings are my weakness!
I hope you enjoyed this Fall transitional wardrobe post! What summer piece(s) will you be wearing this Fall? Let me know in the comments below.
