I’m pretty shy when it comes to wearing prints, however I dove straight into Everlane’s first polka dot print.
The polka dots are not too large, which don’t feed into my fear of prints. And of course the black and white checks off my comfort zone box.
Best of all, the Everlane Polka Dot Oversized Shirt is part of the brand’s updated line of environmentally friendly pieces, and what I love most about it.
Connecting the Dots: Polka dots are the latest trend, but I didn’t feel guilty about indulging. Polka dots are always a classic.
The fabric, which is 100% Cupro is made from regenerated cellulose fibers. While Cupro may not necessarily be THE most sustainably manufactured fabric (which includes the use of ammonia) it’s a step in the right direction.
Cupro drapes beautifully and feels and looks like Silk, but without the maintenance factor. I washed it on the gentle cycle and hung it to dry. It’s super easy to steam iron away wrinkles, and the fabric holds its shape through the day without bagging or sagging.
As with any button up shirt, you can style the Everlane Polka Dot Oversized Shirt in numerous ways.
- belted at the waist,
- tied at the waist,
- sleeves cuffed,
- buttoned up, or down, you get the picture.
I went for a classic masculine look by buttoning it all the way up. I paired it with high-waist paper bag trousers from H&M or (similar from Everlane) Staying with the menswear theme, I slipped on the Everlane tassel loafers. (that I wrote about in the Everlane Choose What You Pay Sale)
To finish the look I reached for a cross body bag from Proenza Schouler. The color is “spot” on with the Everlane blouse. The lacing mimics the tassel loafers and gives this preppy look a touch of edge.
Xoxo,
