As you all know, Everlane is one of my favorite brands, however I sometimes struggle with styling their essentials in a way that’s my own. Don’t get me wrong, I love how effortless putting together a head to toe Everlane look can be. Especially on Monday mornings when my mommy brain is thinking for 3 people!
But there are those days when I don’t want to look like I stepped right off one of Everlane’s webpages. Fortunately Everlane pieces are so versatile you can team them up with any other brand for a look that is elevated, next level and on trend.
I took two staples, the cashmere crew neck and the cropped wide leg pant and applied a couple fashion rules to elevate them for a lux look.
1. Monochrome – There’s no better way to elevate a look than head to toe monochrome in a rich color: camel.
2. Lux Textures – I gave this blank slate of a look some much needed texture by pairing it with a teddy coat in faux shearling, also in rich camel but in a deeper hue for a bit of contrast.
The Teddy coat is a trend that has staying power. I’ve linked two of my favorites from Something Navy and Scandinavian brand Baum und Pferdgarten
3. Luxe Accessories – Hardly any of us can afford Gucci apparel. But with strategy and patience you can!
For the Marmont logo belt here I shopped the men’s section and scored a discount. The kids section is also a great way to score a GG belt. As for the shoes, I coveted these pricey beauties for several seasons. But after investing in the over-the-top Princetown loafers 3 years ago, I wasn’t keen to make another buy of that size anytime soon. So my strategy was to set an alert in my eBay account to notify me when the Gucci Unia studded pumps in my size went up for sale. Guess who was there when a pre-owned pair (at 1/3 retail cost) finally popped up?
4. Timeless Trends -sounds like an oxymoron, right? PVC bags were a major trend this summer, but that doesn’t mean you should pack it away.
Instead, challenge yourself to stretch those summer pieces you’ve invested in!
