I’ll never forget my favorite but long lost sweater, a thick cable knit in a rust velour fabric. Why I ever let go of that sweater I’ll never know! Fortunately this cozy fall sweater found its way into my life thanks to my friends at Grana*. And it’s definitely my new favorite for sweater weather.
This season I incorporated three new sweaters into my Fall/Winter Capsule wardrobe. Two of them are by Acne Studios bought on consignment. Which means they’re not technically “new”, just “new to me”. I’m obsessed with these ethically sourced sweaters! However they are very warm and thick and will have to wait until January when California winter arrives.
Until then this Merino Wool Chunky Turtleneck sweater from Grana will be in heavy rotation.
About this cozy fall sweater:
Italian Merino wool both warm and breathable. This quality makes it a great layering piece with jackets and down vests. No need to worry about becoming weighed down or overheated. The stitching is a wide rib knit style for that flexible and chunky feel.
“Crafted in Biella, a small town at the foot of the Italian Alps, there are centuries of expertise at work here. Merino wool moves easily thanks to the finer fibres, while the moisture wicking properties create a breathable layer that insulates the body”… Grana.com
About the fit:
The neck of the sweater is extra long for Shar-Pei style rolling. You could even wear it as a cowl. The sleeves are slightly batwing and the fit is slouchy, but not overly so. The sweater hits a mid hip on me (I’m short-waisted)but the length is not too long to half tuck. My normal size is small but I opted for the medium for an oversized slouchy fit.
How to style:
I paired this sweater with the Full Silk Skirt, also from Grana, for a complete Grana look. I love being able to feature a look from the same brand, especially one that does wardrobe essentials so well. This sweater would easily pair with skinny jeans and a biker jacket or over a Grana silky slipdress.
