Oakland based Lacson Ravello has been a favorite of mine for years.
Designer Kristina Lacson McConnico puts a twist on classic staples that never ceases to surprise and delight. Her latest collection is a much needed boost to anyone’s stay-at-home closet!
Staying at home these days has given me more time to reflect on refining my personal style. These past few years have found me falling a bit too far down the Minimalist rabbit hole. I still love the clean lines of a minimal aesthetic, and I’ll always rely on my 10 piece formula. However I realized that I was becoming unhappy with my strict adherence to a dress code.
To hone my stay-at-home style I only had to look to the French for inspiration. My goal: to capture that effortless look with just a touch of flare. French “cool girls” wearing brands like Rouje and Sezane were my sources of inspiration. Luckily I didn’t have to travel to Europe! When Oakland based Lacson Ravello reached out to me to curate* a stay-at-home capsule collection the Filippa dress was my top pick.

French women have mastered the art of “done-in-one” dressing. Black and white polka dots are a hands down French classic but the tiny dot pattern selected for this dress places it in a category of its own.
Filippa offers a fresh dose of femme style with a double layer of ruffles hitting above the knee for a polished, yet playful look that the French are also known for. Feminine yet functional, the Filippa dress ticks all of the boxes.
I also love that the full length sleeves can be scrunched up for warmer weather, making it season-less. And of course come Fall or Winter you can layer on tights, knee high boots and an oversized cardigan. You don’t need me to tell you that the styling options are endless!
I’m spending more time with family cultivating our home and especially our landscaping. My husband put up a tree swing and slack line for the kids. And we broke out our old croquet and badminton sets.
Eating out doors and laying on the grass that we strah-uggled to grow from seed is a special treat from hours in front of the computer.
Although we may not be showing up to an office what a treat it is to slip on a dress that will take you from Zoom meeting to Al fresco dinning with the family.

Xoxo,
Love learning about a WOC-designed brand in my backyard! This is a darling dress and the tiny dot print makes is even cuter.
